Cassis, France
South of France … a little slice of heaven
In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France you will find a gorgeous costal fishing town called Cassis.
This costal area is famous for it’s stunning limestone calanques. Which are inlets with giant steep walls and crystal turquoise water! It’s magnifique!
I begged Jackie to take me to the calanques for sunset, but it’s quite a hike with kids in tow (1 hr hike each way) and also in Summer it would be much more pleasant to swim. If you enjoy hiking and swimming the Parc National des Calanques is heaven!
This place brings back beautiful memories from our honeymoon 8 years ago!! Being here with the girls was pretty special. We had fish and chips by the water for lunch and then wondered around the gorgeous cobblestone streets! There’s plenty of great places to eat, and plenty of cute shops to buy clothing, toys and gifts!
If you stay in Cassis everything is walking distance. It’s only 45mins from Marseille. Hiring a car from Marseille airport is very easy, or you can choose to catch the train.
Safe to say… i could live here!
Oh.. just make sure you dodge the doggie doo! I stepped in some.. but it was no biggie! A bottle of water is always handy for multiple reasons!!!
